The aim of this course is to coach and prepare you to be an effective public speaker, which is a critical skill in any work setting. Presenting with impact is a critical skill to have both when applying for a job and when already in a working role. The skills taught in this course are explored in the context of a work environment. However, it is important to remember that all of these skills are transferable and we encourage you to put them into practice wherever possible in your everyday lives. In this course, you will explore some of the most effective storytelling techniques as a foundation for presenting. You will also consider what building blocks you need to have in place to create a story, and what visuals will support your story. More so, you will be introduced to mindfulness as a way of managing nerves and enhancing delivery performance. You will then look at how to use verbal and non-verbal communication techniques when presenting. At the end of this course, you will deliver a presentation, reflect on it and consider how you can improve in the future. Everything you will learn in this course will help you to cultivate conscious communications and impactful presentation skills.
